FAMILY CLASS
Every year thousands of families are reunited to Canadians and permanent residents. This is because family reunification is one of its fundamental objectives under the Immigration and Refugee Protection and Act. According to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Canada welcomed 62,246 new immigrants under the Family Class in 2004. And in April 18, 2005, Canada's commitment to family reunification has never been more evident by the Minister of Immigration's announcement of measures totaling $72 million over two years to reduce this inventory by 12,000 people per year.
